Our story:

We are Bryan and Kathy, owners of The Lion in Ohrid. After we got married we decided that we wanted more challenges in our lives. At that time we both had office jobs but our love for hospitality kept calling. It is now almost a year and a half since we made our dream come true; a lakeside restaurant in beautiful Ohrid! Kathy is half Macedonian, born in the Netherlands. Because of this we often went on holiday to Ohrid. Our idea and concept was to bring some new flavours to Ohrid. Where we also have some traditional dishes, we try to come up with something new.

 

We at The Lion restaurant in Ohrid will be open for a year in April. We had a flying start last spring/summer in this annoying corona period. Fortunately we have been able to be a part of many successful holidays, some of you having come to us through Ohrid4u and the lovely Ana. The whole Lion team is looking forward to the 2022 season. 

 

Our diverse menu includes: traditional Macedonian breakfasts, pancakes, fresh soup and sandwiches as we are used to in Holland, different tapas dishes, wok, fresh fish/meat and of course our Lion's Special: the Slow cooked Baby Back Ribs.

We are open 7 days a week, Sun to Sun from 09:00 to 01:00, Fri and Sat until 02:00. This means that you can also come to us in the evening for a party with a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to our Latin and (already well known) Dutch nights, this summer we are adding a Macedonian night. Enjoy the evening with your favourite cocktail or drink.
